Cork Council Grants planning approval for Solar Facility to Amarenco Solar
Cork – 29th January 2016: Cork County Council has today granted planning for a new 5MW solar farm in Kilmoney, Co. Cork. The permission has been granted to Amarenco Solar. The solar farm will comprise approximately 22,200 photovoltaic panels on ground-mounted frames within a site area of 10.2 hectares and the project will employ 40 during the construction phase.
“The application approval by Cork County Council is very welcome news and is part of a significant number of applications being prepared by Amarenco Solar for Ireland,” said John Mullins, CEO, Amarenco Solar. “Overall we intend to apply for forty solar farms in Ireland. Presently, the company is awaiting the approval of Cork County Council for five additional facilities it has applied for in the county.”
This week, Amarenco Solar, the Irish Developer of Solar Energy Assets in Europe announced is to relocate its international headquarters from Dublin to Cork. In the process, the company will establish 10 new jobs, in business development, administration and technical support.
The company’s largest operations are in the South of France, where the company is actively managing assets of the value of €230 million across 17 sites. It has a further pipeline of six projects in France for 2016.
Amarenco Solar now has offices in Cork, Dublin, London, Nice and Gaillac. The company is currently in a significant debt-finance fund-raising process in London, which is expected to close in mid-February.
